Enduro Race Rules
- Cars are checked for safety rules only at the Pit Gate upon entering the race track. Readily visible rule violations may be enforced before the race begins. However, time does not permit a top to bottom inspection of all cars before the race begins. As quickly as possible following the race, the top 12 cars are brought to center of the front pit area and are checked for violations. Any car found not adhering to all rules will be disqualified and will not be paid. The 11th place car will then move up in position. Each person is responsible for reading and following the rules. If you don't comply, don't come. We won't come to you before the race and tell you something is illegal on your car, all rules are enforced after the race is completed. Payouts will be paid at the Nodak Race Club building no earlier than 5pm.
- Streets car only, no trucks allowed. (El Caminos are OK)
- Seat belts and safety approved racing helmet required. (Shoulder harness is recommended, but not required)
- All glass, including mirrors, must be removed from the car. Wire mesh may be installed in the windshield area.
- Roll cage is optional, Cage must be confined to passenger area only, no bar are to extend to truck or through the firewall.
- Wheelbase must be 105".
- No gutting of interior, although sheet metal from driver door may be gutted for hip bars. Burnable material such as headliner and floor may be removed. Dash and seats must stay, front seats must be intact. If buckets seats, both must be there. Back seat may be removed, however, a piece of metal or aluminum must be installed back seat and truck area to act as firewall. Door panels my be removed, however, something such as plywood or light gage aluminum must be installed in place to cover sharp edges. If a full 4 point roll cage is installed, only the side bucket seat is required and a hip bar must be placed horizontally on the inside right hand side of car. Rub bar may be mounted on the outside drivers door - 1" thick maximum. Bars or combination of bars may not exceed 6 feet in width. Tubing may be spaced 12" apart.
- No altering suspension, it has not be determined which way the cars will go around the race track. Direction may be reversed on restart.
- Only stock steel wheels. Only tires designed for street use may be used. Face of tire no wider than 8". Wheel wells may be cut no more than an 1 1/2" larger than tire radius.
- Doors and trunks must be chained or welded shut (welds no more than 3 feet long and spaced 12" apart) Holes in doors, trunk and hood may be cut to run chains through. Hood pins OK. Holes in hood for putting out fires is allowed, no bigger than 12" diameter. Nothing may stick out of hood.
- Front doors on both sides and roof must be painted on solid color and left completely blank for number. Do not put a number on your car until one is assigned.
- All gas tanks must be moved to the trunk area. Any container used besides the stock tank must be steel constructed or safety approved. Auxiliary tanks used in station wagons must be located in the back and must be covered. ALL gas tanks must be securely mounted using steel straps or chains. One hole up to 6" diameter allowed in trunk for gas fill pipe. Pipe must be inside of truck at least 3". (Nothing may be sticking out of the trunk) Holes must be covered. Suggestion: The best cover would be a light piece of sheet metal held on by one bolt, so that it can be swiveled when gas is being added. Bolt towards front end of car.
- Battery may be moved to inside of car, but must be covered.
- Radiator must remain in original location and operational. Wire mesh may be installed in front of radiator. An extra cooler may be used, it must be mounted inside the automobile, but far enough away to prevent injury. Recommended mounting position is in the rear window, in upright position and may extend outside of the window opening.
- We recommend you wrap a chain around the frame and bumper (especially those impact bumpers) to help hold the bumpers on.
- NO reinforcing, cutting apart, welding or modification of ANYTHING is allowed, except what is stated.
- NO radio communication allowed. It is unfair to other contestants and interferes with officials.
- This event is designed for street cars only. NO high performance parts that didn't come stock on the vehicle is not allowed. All engines, suspensions, and drive trains must be stock appearing.
- No drivers of Hobby Stock, Modifieds, Late Models, or Sprints or classes equal to these, that have driven in the last five years may compete. Bombers or similar classes are OK. It is physically impossible for us to know every race car driver, therefore we rely on other drivers to help police this rule. Driver protests must be filled 1/2 hour before the race begins. Any protests must be made by another driver entered in the Enduro. After a protest is filled, management reserves the right to allow or disallow the driver at its discretion.
- The race promoter reserves the right to claim any car entered into the Enduro for $500.
- Entry fee, $100 per car. Only pre-entered cars will be guaranteed a starting position. It is to your advantage to get your entry form and fee in early as possible, your starting position is determined by the order we receive them. Sign in will begin at 10am and end at 11am. Please try to be at the track as early as possible to prevent any backup of cars at the pit gate. Anyone arriving late may not be allowed to race. If you arrive after the race has begun, you will not be allowed in. Race starts at 11 am sharp.
- All drivers must be in the pit area at least 1 1/2 hours before the race begins in order to park cars in there starting position. After the race has been completed, you must move your car to the pit area in order to prep the track for the evening heats. No alcohol will be allowed in the pits after 4pm. It is recommended you move your car and trailer to the east parking lot as soon as possible. Nodak Race Heats start at 4:00pm.
- The race will have only one event, it will last either 1 1/2 hours or 150 laps, which ever is first. Weather conditions, other acts of God, or mechanical failures in the scoring process may cause the race to be stopped early. The right to stop the race early is reserved by Motor Magic Promoter. Motor Magic Promoter reserves the right to either rerun the race at a later date or to declare the race final. Motor Magic Promoter may change the length of the event.
- Each car must provide one person to supervise lap counting. This person must be check in at the pit gate and must be in their proper position in the lap counting area by 10:30am. They must come through the pits, not the grandstand, and should enter with the Enduro car. This person will have the responsibility of watching your car as it passes the flag stand on every lap, therefore, do not assign someone who will want to watch the event. Please choose your lap counting person ahead of time and have them read the Lap Counting Instructions. The do not need paper and pencil, but should have a good idea of what is expected of them. Be sure they are there on time, if they are late we are not responsible, and it is your lap counting that will not be done. No drinking allowed.
- Any area not covered in the rules above shall be left up to the discretion of the Motor Magic Promoter.
Lap Counting Instructions
- All lap counters MUST check in at the PIT GATE and be in lap counting area by 1:30pm
- Only one official lap counter per car will be allowed in the area. (NO children, friends, etc..) Seats are assigned and numbered, please sit in the right seat, you'll be order 1, 2, 3...
- Be sure to turn your lap board into an official immediately after the event. If you don't turn the board in on time, your results may not be official and your car will be disqualified.
- Starting time. As soon as the Green Flag is given right down the first time your car passes between you and the flag stand on the blank line above line #1. This is the beginning of the race - the car has not made an official lap yet.
- Red Flag. If the cars are not stopped, continue counting laps. If the flag man stops the race, write down the time whenever the car passes the clock (either when it is stopping or when it goes again. In other words right down the time every time your car goes by.
- If your car goes into the pits and comes back out on the track again later on, write down when they pass the clock on the very next line (DO NOT SKIP ANY LINES).
- Official results will not be available until all cars pass through inspection and lap counting sheets have be handed in.
- Remember that what the annoucer says is not only five minutes late, it is not official and has nothing to do with the actual finish of the race.
- There will be no Drinking in the lap counting area. If your car goes out and you think it is going to stay out, and you want to drink, have some respect for the other lap counters and go to a different area.
